The book I chose was A not so meet cute by Meghan Quinn. I initially chose this book because it was given to me in my Comp class as a quick read for twenty minutes. I ended up really enjoying the book and asked if I could use it for this class. So far, this book started off differently from other books I read. Instead of the common themes, this one starts off as Lottie losing her job and not having a place to live, then there is Huxley. Huxley is a rich snob who must close a buissness deal. Overall, Huxley needs to make himself look like the classic, sweet, family guy who has a big heart. Lottie needs to score a job and a place to live. Soon enough they find out they are going to be able to help one another.
ReplyDeleteI like how you found the book. I hope you enjoy the book and the title sounds interesting.
DeleteI'm curious on how these two will meet and i wonder what's so different about it.
DeleteOoohh the description of this book is very intriguing. Please fill me in when you read more I would love to know what happens
DeleteI chose the book Live In Infamy by Caroline Tung Richmond. I had chosen this book because it was a what if we lost world war 2. I am very interested in these topics. The book starts off introducing the main character named Ren who works with his dad in a shop. The citizens are called the town center to watch the first execution after his own mother was executed all those years ago. It then talks about how when Ren is forced to walk to the town center, he looks at the wanted posters on the walls. Zara St. James: 10 Million Yen wanted dead or alive, The Viper: 550 Million Yen for a tip of their identity. The Viper is a huge propaganda artist for the rebels who writes newspapers the motivate the rebels. It turns out Ren is secretly The Viper.
ReplyDeleteSo I did the math and 10,000,000 Yen is equivelent to $65,552.92, but with the 550,000,000 Yen for the tip of the identity is about $360,5410.74. So, whatever Viper (or Ren) is doing to spread this propaganda, they are worth quite a bit of cash. Not to mention what kind of propaganda they want them dead or alive for.
DeleteI chose the book Night by Elie Wiesel. The book is a biography of Elie's experience being a jew during the holocaust. Elie wrote the book to enlighten those who don't know about it and he describes the horrific events that took place during the holocaust. I chose this book because I like history and the holocaust is one event I am fascinated in because it was more than just a genocide. The holocaust exposed what one person can do to another.
ReplyDeleteYou are gonna love this book my friend, I read this in our last book group and oh my... it gets dark and gore pretty quickly, so have fun with it!
DeleteNight is a good book with a lot of twists and turns that lead to such interesting things that the Germens did when the Holocaust took place. I was disturbed by most of what I read.
DeleteNight is very hard to read at some points because of how descriptive it is. Overall, the book is a very good book to read and i think you will enjoy it.
DeleteNight was going to be my second choice because I love reading about World War 2. I would love to know if you think it is good once you finish it.
DeleteI was going to chose Night as well for my 3rd book mostly because I did not get it last time and the book sounds very knowledgeable and insightful on what the Holocaust was like especially for how short of a read it is. Hope the book does not disappoint you.
DeleteNight is a very good book I have read it. But sometimes it is pretty hard to read.
DeleteAh Night, you are going to have fun with this one, it's a good kind of book. When I saw this book, I was ready to see how it goes. All I can say is: Good luck.
Deletei would also like to read Night because it sounds like it would be very informative. it must have felt very weird for the author to right this as it may have brought up bad memories.
DeleteI chose the book called: Mermaids. The Myths, Legends, & Lore, by: Skye Alexander. I initenally had about 5 books to choose from but I decided to read this book mainly for the fact it's shorter and easy to read/understand. But another reason is that I love Mythology and Floklore, I myself study Demonology and Angelology from reglions across the world (although it's mainly from Christian, Jewish, and Pagan Mythologies). As the title says, this particullar book is about the world of Mermaids, but that's not really all it talks about. This book is quite short (only 214 pages long), but it delves more into the quontity rather than being of one or two particullar subjects. For example: The book opens with the symbolisms of water itself, then it quickly dives the reader into the realm of Mermaids within a few pages. I will say that this is one particullar critisizim about this book, the braudining of basically the entire History, Folklore, Legends, Myths, Sightings, and Symbolism of Mermaids into a 214 paged book can be a bit overwelming to some readers who aren't already somewhat aware of alot of these spiciffic refrences. One part that does pop-up alot is the relations of the terrorfing Siren, and it's particullar Folklore from Greek Mythology. Alongside the connections of Mermaids (or in this case Sirens) to the phycology of men of their relationships and mindset of women. Stating and I quote: "Mermaids and Sirens are the mythological and fantastical sexual desires, and most fearful parts of men's realationship with women." and though alone with no context is indeed a broud statement, but with the previous evidence leading up to this claim, it does have its value that I 100% agree with.
ReplyDeleteI think mythology is really interesting as well!! I always have loved the idea of mermaids and sirens they are so cool for me and I hope you enjoy the book.
DeleteI myself study Demonology from reglions across the world although it's mainly from Christian, Jewish, and Pagan Mythologies im also interred in JINN and devil's from islamic religion is denfenty intersing. I would love to talk about it or read a different book you take about.
DeleteI am reading the book Prisoner of war. I choose this book because i like reading books about war. I am reading this book because my brother read it and he told me it was good. So i figured if he liked it i will like it too. My initial thoughts on my book are that i really like it so far. And so many things have already happened. It starts out by talking about the main characters living situation. And talks about how his dad hits him. I am very hooked on its so good.
ReplyDeleteSeems like an interesting book. War books are always good to read you can see how a person changes once the war starts or ends. I wonder what type of war is it?
DeleteI enjoy reading war books as well, and your book seems very interesting. My last book i read was a war book that took place in Africa and dealt with child solider having to fight rebels in the war. The author often spent time recalling his living situations as he was often living in run down huts, or tents from other people from his village.
Deletei enjoy watching war movies and so I'm guessing war books will be really enjoyable. i can't wait to hear more about this book and maybe consider reading it.
DeleteMy favorite thing to read about is war. I will be sure to check that book out next.
DeleteThat's also a reason why I chose the book I did. Something about war or the military has always grabbed my attention, mainly because of the action.
DeleteGood pick Bodie, I also enjoy reading books about war. Is this book about a specific war? If so what one is it, and what exactly is the main goal of the book?
Deletethis sounds like a good book Bodie. Books about war interest me too. What about the war interests you so much?
Deletelooks like a good book about war.
DeleteI would want to read it
Deletesounds like a good book. i like reading about war to.
DeleteI am reading Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian. I chose this book because I like books with magic and princess and fairytale stuff and the book has all of it. I mainly looked around at books and i saw the 3rd book in the series and i liked what it had said then found out it was the 3rd book so i grabbed the 1st book and started reading. It starts by saying that the main characters mother was murdered by people who took over her country and how she has been mistreated by the people who have taken over her country.
ReplyDeleteYour book seems very interesting and I also enjoy reading fairytale books and i might have to check out this series next.
DeleteI am reading the book Running loose. The reason I choose this book is because I heard it talked about a senior who is named Louie, and he is an African American who has challenges with rude people who says nonsense. Football is the main sport being in this book and it is my second favorite sport. It starts off well explaining few characters that will be in the book and in my opinion, it can have its hooked moments where you don't want to put the book down. So far it is interesting.
ReplyDeleteI read Running Loose for my first book and it was a very interesting and fast read,. Louie is not African American but he stands up for a guy on the opposing football team who was mistreated by one of his friends during a football game. The beginning is interesting to hook you into reading because it talks about Louie doing something bad losing all his friends and girlfriend and makes you want to read to see what he did.
DeleteI was pretty interested in that book i think it was either my 2nd or 3rd book i wanted when we made the top 5 list on what we wanted to read. Football is also my 2nd favorite sport i hope you enjoy the book.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Deletei have read this book lots of action and jealousy, and Boomers my favorite character, because his dad is really hard on him and i felt i could relate.
DeleteI choose to read the book We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. I decided to read this book as it was recommended to me by a few people and is a mystery book, and also takes place on a private island in Massachusetts which was also something that interested me. The main character Candance belongs to the Sinclair family that are rich, perfect, and never make mistakes. Her own a private island that Candance, and the rest of her immediate family go to every summer. When Candance is sixteen her cousin brings one of his friends with for the summer named Gat where Gat and Candance begin dating. One night Candance goes to the ocean by herself, hit her head on a rock and is found the next morning on the beach unconscious and can not remember anything from that night. Gat does not bother to check up on her or get in contact as he lives in New York and did not have to see her if he didn't want too. This book is very interesting because it has you questioning if there was more to the story of what happened to Candance that night, as well as family secrets as they have a family history and are not always as they seem. I am excited to read on to see what will happen next.
ReplyDeleteI also went by recommendation for my book Verity. I had heard a ton of great things about this book which made me very excited to read it. We have a similar type books because mine is also a mystery type. I have heard and seen a lot about your book We Were Liars. You will have to let me know If you like it! It might have it be my next book.
DeleteI picked the book Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid which is loosely based off the 70's band Fleetwood Mac and their album Rumours. I chose it because i like that era of music. The process i went through is looking up on google music books. The specific reason is because it was the first one that came up and i watched the show. It starts with a 14 year old girl named Daisy Jones who has like really rich parents due to their jobs and she starts sneaking out to learn more about the Cali Scene. It looks like it will be a really good book and i cannot wait to see what is coming up.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite books. I hope that you are ready because it is a roller coaster of a story. The tv show does not do the book any justice. Also, it is very easy for you to start hating certain characters. Enjoy!
Deleteouuuu good book you believe the end when you get near, its very sad but you will enjoy the book.
DeleteI have read Daisy Jones and the six, I really enjoyed it, but i didn't know the history of it so i'm glad to know that you have the insight and history about the true story of the book
DeleteThe book I chose was "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. So far it's about a girl named Mariam who lives in Gul Daman, Afghanistan with her mother Nana. Nana was a housekeeper for a man named Jalil who was a very wealthy man who already had three wives, but nana soon fell pregnant with Jalil's baby, he then kicked her out and made her raise the baby by herself in a remote village and rarely visits Mariam. I Chose this book because i was interested on how the war affected individual's lives in Afghanistan. So far i think the book is interesting with the family drama which is keep me hooked so far.
ReplyDeleteThis book was very good. I read it as my 2nd book for this class. It makes the reader very upset and wonder how people are capable of treating each other in such cruel ways. Poor Miriam is in for a rough life.
DeleteThis book I was considering reading for my third book. I had heard about it during blogs last book and it was my top choice last time. I would have loved to read this book and learn about what these girls went through. If we had a little more time I would have wanted to read this book for sure. I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteThe book I chose to read was Earned by Robert Terkla. A couple reasons why I chose this book was because I have always been a fan of military and war based books, mainly because they have a lot of action within them and so it can easily keep my attention. Also Robert has a YouTube channel by the name of Lunkers TV, and when this book came out back in 2020 I knew I had to buy it. Unfortunately of the 4 years I've owned this book I just never had the time to sit down and read it, but now here's my chance. I would say since it is a shorter read, Robert does a great job at getting the reader hooked right from the start because he goes into depth about his childhood and the challenges he had to face.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounded very appealing when we were in our group discussion, I am happy that you are also finally getting a chance to read it. I am excited to hear about what happens in it going forward in our next discussion.
Deletethis book sounds really good as war books usually catch my eye, I don't think i have seen this book anywhere so I will definitely have to check
DeleteThis book sounds a lot like my book The Reaper so I might have to read it, because I really like mine. I have never seen any of his videos, but I have heard of Lunkers TV before.
DeleteI chose to read Every Summer After by Carley Fortune. I chose to read this book because I wanted a summer read because senioritis is hitting really hard, and I don't want to be in school anymore. The process I went through to find this book was not very difficult. I asked my mom what book she would recommend if I wanted a book that involved summer and would be a fast read and she told me about this book. My initial thoughts on the book are that it is very fast paced and has a lot of twists and turns in the story line that keep the reader engaged. It starts out by telling you about the main character Percy's current life and how she is missing her time at her lake house when she was younger. Then the story line jumps back 17 years and introduces something that happened over thanksgiving that caused her to never return. I am hooked and am excited to see how the story ends.
ReplyDeleteWOW. I THINK I WOULD BE HOOKED. That sounds like a great read and it be cool to read a summer book and I totally get the senioritis!
DeleteI have senioritis as well so reading a book about summer was a really good idea! Cant wait to hear more about this book!!!
DeleteSounds like me every year of high school sound like a book that I could relate.
DeleteThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a novel by Mark Twain, published in the United States in 1885. It is often considered one of the greatest American novels ever written, and its written like 1885 o my. I had little proses to get my book just went to the back saw huckleberry finn and I was hooked. The story follows Huck Finn, a young boy who has run away from his abusive father and is traveling down the Mississippi River with a runaway slave named Jim. Along the way, the two encounter a variety of people and situations, including con men, feuding families, and a gang of robbers. Something happens every chapter and keeps you in but it is sooooooo hard to read.
ReplyDeleteHuckle berry fin sounds like a great book reminds me of o brother where art though, I'm just curious why is it such a hard book to read is it because it was written in 1885?
Deletethis book sounds like a very action packed book that I would like to read Aswell
DeleteI read this book in classic novels Max. I think you'll really like what happens throughout the story. I also think this is Mark Twain's best book.
Deletei have never read the book but ive heard the little kid stories about him and wonder if its antthing like those or if it motions the same things
DeleteI have never read this book before but it sounds like a good book. Especially Because it is so action packed.
DeleteMy new book I am reading is Cottonlandia by Watt Key. I decided to read this book because it was about a boy living and working on a farm, which I can relate to in my own life. The process that I went through to find this book was quite simple, I say it sitting on the stand in the library and the cover caught my attention. I am very pleased with how this book has started. It's about a young boy named Winn who grows up in Manhattan, his dad works on WallStreet but he is facing prison time for committing tax fraud. All of Winns life he was spoiled and given whatever he wants but with his family's situation, he is sent to live with his grandma in a poverty town called Cottonlandia. I haven't been able to put the book down yet, so hopefully Winn can find a way out of this problem.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Loveless by Alice Oseman. I chose it because i had read other books by Oseman, including Solitaire and the Heartstopper series and found them very enjoyable. I had seen Loveless in the other books I read by Oseman, although i had to go out and buy it myself since the library did not have it. There wasn't really any reason i chose this book in specific besides it being written by an author i enjoy. I absolutely love the book. Oseman does a fantastic job with Georgia's internal monologue, showing how a person can, in a way, trick themselves into thinking they want things that they really don't. The book opens with Georgia and her friends at an acquaintance's graduation party. During a game of Truth or Dare, Georgia reveals that she's never kissed anyone, to the amazement of the other partygoers. Their reactions make her ashamed and feel like she's missing out on something. Her friend Pip encourages her to take the opportunity to kiss her seven-year long crush, Tommy. However, when she does, she finds herself violently repulsed by the act of kissing him, causing her to push him and sending him toward the fireplace, where his arm is set aflame and Georgia's favorite jacket (that he was wearing) ruined by the fire. I would certainly say I'm hooked, given that im over 300 pages in before the second discussion, and I'm on pace to be finished with it by tomorrow or wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThe book i chose was rich dad poor dad the reason i chose this book was because the book is a best seller and read countless by many people and has changed many peoples lives about money. I found the book in the library i knew about the book prior to reading it but never read it so i felt like it was my one in only chance since i had so much time to read in Mrs. Broadbent's class. It starts off by Robert saying money is not real and the only way to make money is to have it work for you. What he is trying to say is if you keep on working for your paycheck the more money you make the more your gonna get taxed on your income, the government is always gonna take a fair share. Robert believes if you have your money work for you by putting it into real estate or stocks the money you earned can be moved around to other assets and when you wanna pull that money out it is taxed very lightly tax compared to income tax.

DeleteI bought this book about a year ago and I have to say it was one of the best books I have ever read, it gives major insight to the real world.
DeleteI heard that this book was good from the librarian was thinking about reading it. The book seems so informational and is a valuable lesson everyone should read
DeleteThis book sounds like it could teach you some pretty useful things. I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteAidan seems like your really trying to get your knowledge up with the book you chose. I hope it's a good book and you learn a lot from it.
DeleteThe book I chose is Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. The reason I chose this book is because it is about World War 2. I went over to the library and asked if there were any good WW2 books and she told me about this book. There was no specific reason why i chose this book. The way this book starts is it tells us about the main characters childhood and how he was not the best kid. I am already hooked on the book.
ReplyDeletebooks about ww2 are always good i would be interested.
DeleteThe book I choose is King of Pride because I have read Ana Huang's other twisted series and the where great. I was going to read the King of Wrath but i finished that in like three days and so I picked the net book in the series and yes this is a Series its about three girls and they all talk about there relationship status and how they make there future and it cool the difficulties they all face and seeing what is going on and how the girls are going to fix the problem the first book had Vivian and she was set up by her father to marry Dante Russo a business billionaire and her father blackmailed Dante so there was a little problem there and then the book I am reading now is about Kai and Isabella and the thing is that Kai's mom wants Kai to marry a well educated and well polished lady and Kai has his eyes on Isabella that has tattoos and purple hair and works at a bar Valhalla and she cannot date costumers because that's the Valhalla's rules (so many billionaires are aloud in its a club with 100 people and you have to be invited or know some in there to get you in) and you could get fired and Isabella needs tis job so she cannot fall for Kai
ReplyDeleteYour book seems like it has many twists and turns and seems like a series you are truly enjoying! I cannot wait to hear more about your book in our discussion, and learn more about your characters.
DeleteThis series is one that I've seen a lot about and will read it next. The Twisted series is the one I'm interested in.
DeleteI would like to read this book it seems interesting and a fun read a book with good twist
DeleteI heard about the book series and i have always wanted to read it, but never got the chance to, I can't wait to hear more about the book and how it ends
DeleteI picked LIVE FREE by Devon Franklin,I gave a quick look over the book before I started to read it and I fell in love with this book. Not following any rules as a traditional book this really just is a big sheet of bullet points it goes over key point and just gives some detail on how and why he thinks the way he does. What made me even look at this book in the first place was a quote on the front of the book " Exceed your highest expectations" just seeing that instantly hooked me, I had to know what he was talking about and so far I am really liking it. It is easy to read and follows no path just going over points that he learned in life,.
ReplyDeleteI have also heard this book has a big plot twist and things like that I wish I could also read this book. Also, I totally get the home work aspect part like now you can read at home and say that it is home work and it actually is.
ReplyDeleteThe book i picked was Ashfall by Mike Mullen, the cover of the book is what attracted me from the start so i picked it up and the summary sounded good as well. This book is about a guy our age that also lives in cedar falls. He is in the midst of an apocalypse caused by a super volcano in yellowstone. The way the book is described and the area is somewhat familiar makes it easy to picture the area and situations. This book is really good. If you like books that take a turn and are about suruviving you should read this.
ReplyDeleteI will hope to read this book someday
Deletethis book sound crazy but fun to read.
DeleteThis book sounds fun and eventful and I wouldn't mind reading it.
DeleteThe book I am reading is The Reaper by Nicholas Irving. It is an autobiography and focuses on his time in Afghanistan as a Ranger where he got 33 confirmed kills. The way I found this book is one day I was bored in class and was looking at Mrs. Broadbent's bookshelf. I had heard about the book before, and when I saw it I decided I wanted to read that book. I am really liking the book so far. It is very fast paced and wastes no time getting into the action.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is The absolutely true diary of a part time indian by Sherman alexie. This novel talks about a teenager who lives in a indian tribe, He is the average teen boy he enjoy sports, watching porn and hanging with friends. The way I found this book is by when mrs winters helped me find it. It is a very good read and I enjoy it. If you are looking for a funny book this is a good one for sure.
ReplyDeletesounds very interesting jude i hope you enjoy your book
DeleteI have read this book before and it is a very good read.

DeleteSounds like a pretty good book, especially since you can connect with it on a more personal level since it sounds like it has some relation to a album I'm assuming you've also listened to. hopefully the ending to it is worth finishing the book for.
DeleteI chosed the book This Winter by Alice Oseman. i picked this book because I've read other books from her and i thing she does a really good job of storytelling in her books. the book is about one of her characters Charlie Spring who is going to have chrismas but its hard for him because he just went to the mental hospital. i like the book so far.
ReplyDeletesounds like a interesting book.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book November 9 by Colleen Hoover and the reason for this choice is the fact that I love Colleen Hoover books and have never really been disappointed in one of her books. This book is a romance book and Fallon and Ben meet in a very interesting way. He pretends to be her girlfriend at a restaurant because he over heard Fallon and her dad going at it. They spend that day together getting to know small things about each other and since Fallon is moving to New York that night. They make an agreement to meet each November 9 of each year for 5 years and this book skips to each November 9 on the day that they meet. I am hooked, its a very chill book and hasn't revealed much yet so I'm excited to see where this goes because there is some sort of mystery.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the same book but it is my first Colleen Hoover book i have read! Can not wait to find out what happens i feel like it is going to get either really good or it might have a disappointing ending.
DeleteI've heard a lot about Colleen Hoover , i feel like this book will be a good start to get into this author. Hopefully you enjoy it.
DeleteI've read this book and it was one of my favorite Colleen Hoover books. I love how it is all based around them only meeting up on November 9th! I want to hear all about your thoughts when you finish!
DeleteI love this book!!! You wont be able to put the book down it so good and I also chose this for my third book but then finished it in 2 days so I chose a different one. I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI choose the book rich dad poor dad the reason why i choose this book is because its a lot about real estate and making money and it not a waste of my time unlike other books. the processes i went through for finding this book was buy the book because it look good. one thing that really stood out to me is the real estate part of the book. my thoughts so far about the book is that it is a great book so far. It starts buy Robert the main character telling the reader that he has a rich dad and a poor dad ones a school teacher that went to college and the other a business main who didn't go to college, but the rich dad is actually his friends dad. and Robert wants to be rich. I love to read this book and I hope its gets better.
ReplyDeleteThat is good that you are learning life skills that could earn you money Brayden Wickham.
DeleteSucks to hear the book wasn't available in the library, although it sounds like you've been wanting to read this one for a while, I wonder how you learned about it in the first place.
DeleteThat's nice, i always seen people recommend this book because it's very motivating and has a unique story. Can't wait to hear more about this book!
DeleteThe book i chose is Push by Precious Jones. it is About a 16 year old African American girl who lives in a terrible household where her dad sexually abuses her and her mom does nothing to stop it. It is so bad that the girl gets pregnant with her dad's kid twice. I was drawn to this book because it sounded so insane I had to know more about it. The beginning of the book explains how she is also illiterate and comes from a home with poor income.
ReplyDeleteWow my jaw is on the ground right now. That sounds crazy, but it sounds like a good book with all of the action.
DeleteI picked the book American sniper because I really enjoyed the movie. My initial thoughts on the book are it is really good, and I am hooked mostly because it goes into much more depth than the movie and gives a better perspective. It starts with the main character Chris Kyle and one of his encounters in Afghanistan of a woman and a child trying to take out an American convoy moving through the city. While the convoy was crawling through the streets the woman and her child approached them with a Russian grenade tucked in her dress and before she got a chance to throw it Chris had taken them both out and they happen to be his first kills.
ReplyDeleteI have watched the movie, and it was an absolutely good movie, but I never read the book version. Maybe if I get my hands on that book, I might look for differences between the two.
DeleteI have watched a little of the movie and can already say that it is a very good movie, but I have never read the book. I might look into the book to try and see if I should read it before finishing the movie or after.
DeleteI would like to read the book now that you said it goes more in depth than the movie.
DeleteI will have to read the book now the movie was awesome
DeleteI want to read it but still i have watch the movie
DeleteI chose the book Long Way Gone. I chose this book because I wanted to read it for my second book and I instead got the book I am Malala. The process I went through to choose this book was very simple, I had picked it out as my 3rd book when I didn't get it for my 2nd. I mainly chose this book because I thought it would be interesting to read the story of a boy who became a soldier and was lucky enough to escape from it/ be rescued from it. My initial thoughts on this book is that it doesn't pull any punches. it starts off really nice and friendly but then when the rebels are introduce to the story it gets really graphic and it does a really good job of portraying the horrors of war. and yes I am hooked.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Every Summer After by Carley Fortune. I picked this book because my mom read it and she read it in three days which means it was good but also an easy read. I really did choose this book for a specific reason. I just thought it sounded like something I would like so I decided to read it. My initial thought is that I want to know what happened between Percy and Sam Twelve summers ago that made her experience anxiety, panic attacks, etc. I am already hooked. Switching back and forth between and past and present, keeps me on my toes. I am excited to read on.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like something i would enjoy reading! Something really horrible must have happened to make such an negative impact on her for years on.
DeleteI love when reading at school feels like it is not homework! it makes it so much easier too. I hope you enjoy this book as I heard a lot of people have liked it!
ReplyDeleteI picked the book Icebreaker by Hannah Grace because it was very highly recommended to me by a friend. She gave me a run down of the book and after hearing her summary of it, I decided it sounded like a good book to finish out the year with. It sounded like a book with alot of relationship conflict which I love to read about. I really like the aspect of a figure skater and a hockey player having a great love story which is exactly what this book is all about. This intrigued me because I've never really been into the ice sports so I figured i would try something new. In the first few pages of the book we learn that someone has destroyed the boys hockey rink. All of the hockey players and figure skaters have to meet in the auditorium to try and figure out who did it. This is the part where the main characters Anastasia and Nate first meet each other. He spots her from across the room and invited her to his party and that was the beginning of a very confusing love story.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins. I chose this because I've seen Goggins on interviews and I wanted to read his book instead of just listening to him. I got it for Christmas and started it but didn't finish it so I decided to finish it. The book is basically about Goggins' life and the things he accomplished and it's pretty good and has me hooked because I know that I couldn't do the things he's doing.

ReplyDeleteI chose the book the Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose. I chose this book because a friend recommended it to me and I had it at my house. But I am very glad I decided on this book because I am hooked. At first this book starts out with a happy married couple who the wife is a very good hotshot lawyer and the husband is a author who had 1 good book then failed. They never had any kids because of the wife Sarah's career. The husband Adam gets bored and has a mistress but when the mistress is found murdered in Adam and Sarahs bed at their lake house after Adam leaves her things are not looking good for him and his wife Sarah is doing everything she can to get him free for something he did not do. I am totally hooked with this book and I would recommended to anyone!
ReplyDeletethe book I chose is called Divergent by Veronica Roth. I chose this book because I had read it a few years ago and wanted to reread it. I went through the process of thinking of a book I knew I would be motivated enough to read within the little time I have. it starts by introducing the world and the main character and how this world is different then our own. I am very hooked because not having read this book for a long time makes all the twists seem new but familiar.
ReplyDeleteis the movie like the book or is it different
DeleteI read this book also and I am so glad you decided to read it. I will agreee it does get very creepy at times but you will get hooked and be done with it in no time!
ReplyDeleteI choose to read November 9th by Colleen Hover. II have already fell in love with this book about love. The main character Fallon was burnt on November 9th two years ago. She was at her fathers house and sleeping when her father was awake cooking and a fire started and became uncontrollable. Her father forgot that she was in his home and she got burnt by the fire before she could get out. Her father has never apologized for forgetting about her and it is two years later. Her acting career is now nonexciting as she has scars from the burns. The first part where we meet Fallon's dad is when they have a lunch date as Fallon will be leaving for New York for Broadway. Her dad is not supportive one bit. The boy sitting near them comes over and introduces himself as Fallon's boyfriend. Ben is in love with Fallon at fist sight. This is the start of there love story!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading the book Zach's lie, it is a good story about a kid who is 13-14 and whose family is in witness protection. i chose this book because its a thrilling read that hooks you right from the start. the book opens with a lot of pressure and suspense, and yes it defiantly caught my attention.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a book I would enjoy. Does it go into depth on why they are in witness protection?
DeleteWhat caused them to go into witness protection? its good it grabbed your attention, books with bad hooks seem like such a chore to read.
DeleteI chose the book Night by Elie Wiesel. I chose this book because it was one of my top choices for our last novel and everyone that read it said it was good. So far I am really enjoying this book and because it is only about 120 pages I am almost finished. The beginning was very interesting to me because I knew what was going to happen to the author and him and his family did not know and had no way of predicting what they were going to go through.
ReplyDeleteim glad youre enjoying it.
DeleteI considered doing that book too. the best part of it has to be how short it is and how some people describe it as a dark book.
DeleteI am reading Night too and I also like that the book isn't so big so I know I can finish it by the end of the tri
DeleteI had this book for our second reading section and I will say that it is really good. I will say that some parts of the book are very graphic and can be hard to read. besides that, the novel was captivating and it makes me wonder what the other books are like.
DeleteI had this book and it was excellent bur horrifying. There are many disturbing details that will intrigue to read more but also make you want to put the book down.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds really interesting! It reminds me of the book Night, by Elie Wiesel. I didn't know that other survivors wrote books about their time during the Holocaust.
DeleteThe last book that I picked to read is Night by Elise Wilesel the reason on why I picked this book is because I wanted to read it before I read the last book that I read and also because many of my friends told me that Night was a good book to read. So far it jumps straight into action where they are put into ghettos and then moved into camps and I would say so far I'm hooked and I'm glad I decided to read it
ReplyDeletei read that book and i believe that it will be a very good book for you it is very educational book to read.
Deletethe book i chose is No Country For Old Men. I saw this book in the library when I was looking for a book and thought it would be good because their is a movie about it. So far the book has been pretty good and interesting. The book starts by introducing the main antagonist Chigurh who is tracking down a briefcase filled with money killing people. The briefcase with money is found by a guy out hunting who only knows someone is probably looking for it and he is trying to run away with the money.
ReplyDeleteThis does sound like a very interesting book. I don't think I've heard of anything like it. I don't think I'll ever read the book but I will most likely want to watch the movie.

ReplyDeleteThe book i chose to read is Icebreaker by Hannah Grace, I chose to read this book because i had read a previous book by her called Wildfire about two camp counselors, I loved wildfire, so i tested out Icebreaker and i'm liking it so far. Icebreaker would be a contemporary romance, as well as a sport fiction with both main protagonists being an ice-skater and a hockey player as well, I know i would enjoy this book because most of the books i read are contemporary romances with an add in of sport fiction. Icebreaker follows the developing relationship between a hockey player Nathan Hawkins and a figure skater Anastasia Allen, the two start out as enemies who navigate their respective athletic and college careers, with the adventures between the two, they start falling in love as the book gets closer and closer to an end.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds okay, doesn't sound necessarily my style because usually when i read sports books it's either basketball or football related because i never get entertained by hockey but overall how you describe it i would probably give it a good gander, hope you enjoy the rest of the book!
DeleteThe book I picked is The Sacred Acre. I chose this book because I can relate to in all sorts of different ways as the book sets place in a small town in Iowa. and because I know what its like to live in a small town in Iowa, I thought this would be a great book to read and relate to. I've also only heard good things about the book. From what I hear, the main character (Ed Thomas) was this well respected man who lived in Parkersburg, Iowa. this story just summarizes his life and how he became the man he was. It sounded like a good book to read and so far it is!
ReplyDeleteThere will be many things to relate to in this book being he is from Iowa. this would have intrigued me to read this book Aswell.
Deletethe book i chose is hondo by ryen. the book is about the basketball player john havlick. personally the reason that i chose this book is because i just needed a book for the class i would have rather had a different book but it was a last minute decision but getting into the book i am somewhat enjoying learning about what happened during his career in basketball.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good book, hopefully you enjoy it for being just a last minute book
DeleteThe Book i chose was the Hideout. When looking for a book i wanted something that was adventurous. Reading the back side of the book told me about a young boy living on his own in a cabin in the woods this intrigued me right away because this sounds like a survival book. The main characters name is Jeremy his parents died in a shopping mall shootout in Seattle. He was then sent to live with uncle in Chicago. Jeremy decides to take a train to travel to Chicago and give himself time to think and grief about his parents. The train crashes and many people were killed this is when he got the idea to run away because they would never find the body he then goes on an adventure through the unexplored woods and runs into bears. He then finds a cabin and plans to live there for the summer.
ReplyDeleteThe book i chose was HEROS By ALLEN GRATZ, when i was searching for a book i wanted to find a book that would jump out at me and make me feel like i could imagine myself in the book. When i first saw the book i was thinking to myself this could bee a book i can actually relate to because of both of my great grandfathers being in wwl and wwll. I saw the big huge air planes on the front of the book and saw that there was fire and two boys in the middle of it. I thought the book was gonna talk about how these too boys grew up and went to war, but i was wrong. You see, i never really understanded the book until i started to get to about chapter 6. The book startes off by going straught into war, the first sentence was literally " i could see airplanes, and the japenese bombers diving into the ships with their aire planes". and i was just stunned and wanted to read alot more but got confused because it was just about there memories and i dont know yyet uf they are just playing around as kids or trying to speak for someone IDK. But hopfully i understand it more and try to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Elon Musk and The Quest For a Fantastic Future by Ashee Vance. I chose this book because it was interesting to learn about the one of the most successful men in the world. this book stated as Ashlee an Elon meeting up to eat together. this book is interesting to read and is not hard to get hooked. it has a lot of interesting facts about Elon.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is A Long Way Gone. The reason why I pick this book is because it was the second book pick that I was going to read, put I picked Night. I can say that it is an okay kind of book. But I will see how it will end.
ReplyDeleteThe book I chose is 1922 by Stephen King. I picked this book because I really like everything written by Stephen King, I think he is a great author. I chose this specific book because I saw that Netflix now has the movie so I will be able to watch it when I finish the book. The book starts right away with the main character confessing to the murder of his wife and now the book is taking place as him telling the story of him killing his wife in his confession. The book hooks you right away because it just jumps right in and you don't even need to take the time to get used to the book because it's super easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteMaze Runner are such good books sound interesting to read
ReplyDeleteI picked The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian because I wanted a book that I would love to read. As a kid I loved and still do love A Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Though the book I chose has similar humor but very dark which attracted me. I also been suggested to read this book by some teachers so whatever they said I trusted because of their specialty in English or books.
ReplyDeleteI picked The Outsiders, by S. H. Hinton. The book is about a group of teenagers who are located on the East Side of the City. Where rival gangs take place in this book, the main character "Ponyboy" is in the gang known as the, "Greasers". The Greasers commonly get into fights with the rival gang, The Socials mostly known as the, "Socs". I chose this book because I know it's iconic and read by many people, I've never got a chance to read it yet. It starts out as Ponyboy talking about his friend Johnny and how he got jumped by some Socs in a blue mustang. Ponyboy has two brothers, Sodapop and Darry. Their parents died and now living on their own. I am hooked on the book already and can't wait to finish it.
